Kid 4 Sale

So, I am sitting here at work... um, working really hard... and running some numbers. Trying to figure out what we can give up or sell (NO... the children are not an option. No, I mean it... don't try to talk me into it, they are not for sale. No means NO...) anway, what the h*ll I can possibly do to try and stay home. Well, it doesn't look good. I mean there is only so much one can go without... food, clothes, a home, a vehicle and gas are not one of those things. Geesh.... I am going to go be depressed now and cruise the Internet for awhile, to waste time at this prime good paying job I have.....

Back to the drawing board of coming up with Plan B.

Oh, I'm sorry. I so hope you find a way soon.

It is frustrating, reading all those dumb articles in magazines about how to save money, and you realize you already do all of the things they're suggesting. Sometimes there is nothing else to cut. The only thing I have learned all these years of penny-pinching is that the little things do add up. It is worth it to save a little bit here and there, it makes a difference in the long run. My favorite person on this subject is Amy Daczyczyn (sp?) - she wrote the Tightwad Gazette (3 volumes) back in the early 90's (the dark ages - she isn't even on the web). Have you heard of her? She's crazy, but smart.

Oh my. Well, I know EXACTLY how you feel, as I am currently sitting at my job, wishing I was at home. Not that my job is bad, but I miss a lot, especially doing the evening thing. I have to take time off to catch a soccer or softball game, or a dance or band concert.

I've crunched those numbers myself, and what I've come up with is that what I make is less than half, but more than a third of our income. I think we probably couldn't do without food and gas and clothes either. I don't have any solutions for you, but I sure do empathize.

yep.

hubby and i both work, make decent money and are still tight some months. I couldn't imagine NOT working, but it sure would save me on daycare and whatever else we spend our money on...

I am right there with you. I do taxes for my husbands friends and aquaintences (ok, I have no clue how to spell that word) and that is the WORST 3 months of my life. I dread those 3 months. the money is aweesome, and I live off of it for the rest of the year, but if I could find something better to make money, I would do it in a heartbeat. I would love to do something crafty - but I am one who has tons of ideas, and no creativity to get it done, LOL. And I sit here and think... what am I good at? Having babies. But even though I would love to help out someone by being a surrogate, I dont know if I could handle that. So that leaves me right back with dealing with the idiots. *sigh* and i will be dealing with them in a month.
