Let it Ice, Let it Ice, Let it Ice...

Today we woke up to over a half inch of ice on the ground, on the cars, on trees, on the driveway (this covers up the last ice storm we got on the 1st of December and snow we got on the 6th of December). It continued to rain/sleet/sludge all day today and keep re-icing what you de-iced earlier. My kids didn't have school. And believe it or not, they were good all day.

I had to be at work today. I had a training class. I cried all the way to work. My husband and I drove together, partially due to the weather (although I could of driven in it) and we were on the same side of town, so it just made sense. All the way there, riding down the Interstate, there I am, crying. Now I am NOT sobbing or anything but silent tears streaming down my face. I was dreading work. I do not know what is wrong with me. I am having some sort of revelation or break down. One or the other...

I am including pictures my sister took while she was at home today (why I didn't take any, as I was NOT at home today). One is of the trees and the other is of a tree branch up close, completely covered in ice.

We get snow here but we don't get that kind of ice storm. I am very glad for that!! Glad you made it to work and I am sorry you hate work so much. I wish I had better words to make it all better.

burrr honey that looks dreadful.

I am pleased to announce that we did NOT freeze over last night. Half (maybe more) of our snow is GONE, MELTED AWAY.

They say that if our rain yesterday was snow we would have a foot of it. I wouldn't mind that, and would rather the snow over that mess you have going there.

*HUGS* for the working blues. I really have no words for you to help you. I am sorry you are not happy and I hope/wish you and your hubby could find a way to make it work.

Those are really beautiful pictures, but it is crazy - all that ice. Stay safe and see you soon. Kellan

Wow! Where do you live? We got snow the other day, but it melted faster than it fell, that's about the extent of it here. If we get an inch of snow the kids are out of school! LOL I hate cold and snow, but the pictures are fun to look at!

Holy crap I so would have been crying because I was scared to drive in that! I am not a very confident bad weather driver and ice would completely do me in.

Sorry that you are having a rough time of things. I really hope the magic of the season finds you soon. Sending happy thoughts your way...

WOW- your previous pictures were pretty amazing, but you can really see how thick the ice is in these pictures. That's going to take till spring to thaw out.
I hope your tears end soon. Hopefully everything will work out the way it should be. :)

Yikes! I hate the icy stuff...snow I can handle and even enjoy until about March or so, but ice is too hard to work with! Hey, the work stuff...I have been working parttime for years, working around my husband's schedule so one or the other is always home. Although it was only part time, our problem was that our weekends for years have been shot! Now before I had this baby, I told my husband, "I will NOT go back to the Friday and Saturday night shift thing anymore!" We had so little family time on the weekends and in my opinion, weekends are to regroup from the busy week. My ultimate dream was to be at home full time. Especially having our 6th baby, I just didn't feel I had time to work outside the home. Well, after I spent about 9 weeks at home, one day blending into the next, my brain slowly frazzling (I know most of it was due to such of a fussy baby, and one more is always busier, no matter the nature of the baby), I almost giggled leaving out the door to work last Friday night. My solution ended up not being full time at home, just cutting it down to reasonable so I still get my "out" (and get paid for it) but not so much that it's making me crazy! Don't know if that helps at all but it does sound like you probably really need to explore new possibilities...your sanity and happiness is not worth sacrificing! Financially, it will fall into place, as long as you create a plan to meet the income coming in (we cut security system, cell phone costs, phone and internet costs, etc. to at least $200-300/mo less plus are shopping a LOT wiser, even for food). Good luck!!!

Hi! I just left this way too long comment and now I don't see it (you're probably thanking the computer right now!) Maybe it told me you have to approve comment first but I didn't see that message! Anyway, now you know (if my comment didn't come through) that I had a very lengthy opinion to share regarding this posting! :)

Wow! Stay safe in all that nasty ice. People seem to forget how to drive when there is snow/ice involved!
The pictures show that everything looks all sparkly and beautiful. It might be a pain, but it sure is pretty.

Jealous, jealous of your ice storm - we're getting rain - everything is hitting just north of us.

Those pictures are absolutely beautiful. I would give anything if I could look out my window and see that. I know, I'm crazy, but it's true.

I'm sorry you're feeling so badly about work. That just sucks. I keep thinking that if someone would just pay me simply because I'm fabulous, I wouldn't have to work at all. Someone should pay you just for being fabulous as well. (hugs)
