The. Best. Kids. Ever.

Wednesday night into Thursday morning we got 6 inches of snow and single digit weather. So, the kids didn't have school yesterday. I stayed home in the morning with them and didn't come to work until 10:30. It was rejuvenating to be home with them, even for just a couple of hours. Well, it was too cold outside to go play out in the fresh snow. Plus, our snow isn't really for playing in... we have so many layers of snow, ice, snow, ice...etc. And I had threatened them to NOT go out and they listened!

So, I get home last night about 4:30 and those sweet, little angels had taken down my tree. They got the boxes out of the basement, lugged them upstairs (well the 18 year old did), my daughter took all the decorations off, my 14 year old son took the entire tree down and then HE carried all the boxes downstairs (mind you he is a tad over 5' tall and barely breaks 100 lbs....LOL). I seriously got all misty eyed when I got home. They were so proud. My daughter, "Look mamma, look what we did for you!" My 14 year old, "We wanted to help you out."

It was seriously one of the nicest things they have ever done for me. I don't even care how they packed up all the stuff. But next year when I go to get out the decorations and they are all askew... remind me of this. Now I just have one question, where are my kids and who took them?!?!?

Can I adopt them? Or swap them for my lazy teens? Lets discuss.

Mary - Believe me... this is out of character and I was s.t.u.n.n.e.d., to say the least. So nothing is impossible, now I believe that!

Wow! What an incredibly nice thing to do. Their kindness and thoughtfulness are a reflection of their parents...great job!

Great photo! God bless.

Oh this is so nice! What a great surprise- no school and they decide to help you out. Kuddos to them- this is an amazing show of support.

Great photo! I love it when they surprise us. It's so cool to see that, for a moment anyway, they're absorbings some of what we're trying to teach them!

How awesome of them to help you get that down! Very good kids! I think you can keep them! (I heard they only did it because thier friends were making fun of them due to the fact that the tree was still up!) Just kidding! I am glad you got to spend some time at home with them. Sometimes, that is the only thing we really need... Its amazing how God can make us slow down when we often need it the most!

That was so sweet of them.. Of course the first thing that would come to my mind would have been -what do they want? Or better yet- What did they do while I was gone, that they are now trying to make up for.. lol.. Seriously, that was so sweet.. And that they all pitched in.. Oh I love the new picture... And you should totally get the Carmen Electra Dvd's.. 1st dvd is just a couple of routines, mainly stretching, head rolls, and bending(which some of us do not do..) .. DVD 2 is boring (it's an actual workout) Dvd 3 is a dance involving a chair (I did it, and thought I would hurt myself or tip the chair), and Disc 4 and 5 (which come together) are a lap dance, and the best of all.. Hip Hop.. They are way more fun than regular exercise things even if you do feel goofy doing them..

somehow I have missed all of your updates???

So I am now caught up, and I had to comment on how sweet that was of them to take the tree down for you! One less thing you have to do.

I love it when the kids try to help out without asking.
